Policy Implications
/

Based on the new drivers of innovation and related innovation principles and based on the policy cases collected by the country visits, three policy areas have been identified:
  • Creating new knowledge
  • Smart regulation
  • Intelligent demand
New knowledge is required to deal with new forms of innovation. Knowledge about co-creation of value and explorative user understanding is necessary, and skills needed to work in multidisciplinary innovation teams will be crucial. If government can design and implement standards and regulation in smarter ways, smart regulation can be a strong engine for innovation. And if public demand can be used more intelligently, it can be another strong engine for new forms of innovation.
